Must say big thanks to all the pointers, been out and bought a new crank shaft sensor and 'bingo' the engine fired up straight away.
All I could find was that the new one seemed to have a stronger magnetic force, the old one is weak in comparison when testing the distance of pull/attraction on a piece of steel.
Whether this has any thing to do with the problem or not it is the only difference. Once again thanks to all especially stevieturbo.
Next job is to tidy all the wiring up as dash board and gauges etc are all out.
