Because it won't respond to the PWM map at all. If you have an S80, it's highly likely you will need to the Diode.
I checked with Allan first and he said he hadn't used that valve on his ECUs and I shouldn't need the diode, but he was wrong!

no idea. mine doesn't - other folks' do...
(my setup, the valve starts to do it's thang as soon as i sync...)
(you get 10 more brake if you put a comedy party-noise-maker over the inlet, too)

Just in case, which way the diode is connected between 12v & Signal?VR6Turbo wrote:No it will still work on yours as well, but it will idle faster. Just trim the PWMs down accordingly.
Have you confirmed the valve is actually opening?
Some ECUs need a 1N4004 diode across 12V & Signal it or it won't work.
It's a very good idle valve once you get it setup properly.

Just google image search "Diode Orientation".
Plenty of pictures to show you which way round to install it.

I understood how a diode works, just make sure that ecu does not damage..
If I understand correctly across 12V & Signal, it means:

Yep, exactly that!
Re: Idle Valve maps (BOSCH)
how important is the start fueling map to be correct, so to be possible to turn on the car ?
and how relative is the start fueling map with the setting in idle functions ?
my car turns on but it can't keep idle properly if i push the throttle pedal and keep the car running and the water temp goes to 70 celcius degrees then it keep idle by own without pushing with my foot the throttle pedal.
any advices how to fix it ??

Re: Idle Valve maps (BOSCH)
Start fuelling map only lasts a matter of seconds really, and is there to add fuel during that time.
Although it's counted in engine turns, as opposed to seconds.
the main things most engines need when cold, along with fuel, is more air.

Re: Idle Valve maps (BOSCH)
i think that engines need rich a/f when they are cold...when i add fuel to start engine map things being better with idle...
i post my maps maybe someone can help...thanks

Re: Idle Valve maps (BOSCH)
your idle valve is at 43% when the engine is warm. id open the throttle a bit and reduce that % when warm. up the % when cold.
