S60Pro not connecting to laptop

Hi,

I ran my engine today (car is still not done).

Turned the power back on, and ECU refuses to connect to laptop. Either the port is already in use, or the ECU is not connected or power is not turned on.

ECU been working flawlessly for years. Can’t understand if I did any changes.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Erlend

So the ecu is still alive and engine runs ?

Are you using the same laptop you always have ?

Are you using the same lead ?

Is the port configured correctly both in DTA software and the ecu's USB-Serial converters ?

Yes, find out in windows what com port the PC is using to connect the USB serial adaptor, then select that same com port in the dta software

Thanks for the replies.

No, the engine will not start, or connect to the computer.

Same computer with RS232 port
Same cable RS232
Tried swapping com ports, both on computer and software.

Error codes are either “Port already in use” “ECU not connected”

When you turn on the ECU, does the fuel pump prime?

Fuel pump is on a separate switch..

Tried again now.

12V to pin 31 verified
COM1 on both computer and software.

Nothing on the opening screen.

Opened Work offline, then connect to ECU;

Attempting to connect to ECU - FAILED!
ECU not Connected or Not Switched On!

Why ?

Hook up a test light to the fuel pump trigger from the ecu. This will at least give some indication if the ecu is alive when you power on.

You confirm power to pin 31 ( on the power plug hopefully ).
Can you also confirm ground on the relevant pin too ? 13/14

It’s just easier when drag racing, reading logs etc.

Will the fuel pump trigger pin give me a 12V reading regardless of settings loaded into the ECU? Pin 3 right?

Yes, switched 12V and ground to the power plug

Tested fuel prime. No power on pin 3 at startup
