Paddleshift and E85

Post by INDYabusa »

Hello

Is there a way to use paddleshift and E85 sensor on a S100 ?
I cannot find how to change Up paddle to have access to E85 signal

Cheers

Alex

This is different options to connect the down paddle but only one pin for the upshift ?

Sorry to read that.

I need to keep paddleshift pins. Can I use ANA2 for example to get ethanol content and then make compensations ?
I have seen some easy DIY kits to convert flexfuel sensor frequency output to a 0-5v output

Cheers

If you can get a 0-5v, probably no reason you couldnt use an analogue input to vary fuel/sparks relative to this.

Are you using varying amounts of ethanol to really need a sensor ?

My understanding of the fuel sensors is that they transmit more than a 0-5v signal and therefore need to be decoded so you can't use one of the ana inputs. But if you can get some sort of converter, happy days.

He said he can get a frequency to analogue converter.

Yeh, but I think the sensors transmit fuel temp also , but im not sure what you would do with that info?

Technically both are on the same stream.

frequency relates to perceived ethanol content, and pulse width relates to temperature.

In a lot of cases the temperature side is ignored anyway

Although if you're not mixing pump and ethanol, probably isnt a lot of need for a sensor in the first place.
