Gear shift Bleeper or buzzer

Post by forrest »

I would like to fit an in helmet or in ear bleeper to the shift light output has anyone done this before? and what is the best way to do it?

Any help and suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers
Forrest.

Not done it personally but cant see any issue, however I'd consider using one of the aux outputs set to rpm, keep the dash gear change light at a slightly different rpm to give you a staged effect, also useful if you use the launch flash gearchanges lamp warning option. Buzzing in the ear when not essential would drive me mad

It's been done before, on a few of the hill climb cars. As Rob suggested, use an Aux output to trigger the buzzer.

I had one on my old MBE system - a great bit of kit as it avoids the need to look out fo shift lights and really grabs your attention. Just the pain of fitting an earpiece in the foam inside your lid, and then remebering to plug it in when you;re strapping yourself into the car.

I never got round to trying to build this into my DTA S100 loom but as said above, should be asy enough to do.
