EGT and compensation on Turbo applications
Does anybody use a EGT thermocouple on a turbo application using DTA and use it to compensate fuel/ignition when its getting a bit hot?

I wouldnt mess with timing too much. You can certainly add a little fuel though. But you cant retard timing as that will just make things hotter, and you cant really advance timing either.
But yes you can easily do it using one of the Analogue inputs and a cheap thermocouple amp

Re: EGT and compensation on Turbo applications
I am using plx egt device, on ana. Input but only for adding some fuel.

Re: EGT and compensation on Turbo applications
Is it possible to lower the boost pressure via Turbo PWM MAP using analog with EGT?
What AUX imput should I use?

I can't think of any way you'd be able to do that.
Unless somehow you could pretend an EGT input after an amplifier/adaptor was a speed signal, and then base boost adjustments on "speed"
But even that wouldnt be easy

If you're not using the gear pot input, you can connect the 5v output from the EGT sensor to Analogue 3, and then enable boost by gear.Marcio Leal wrote:Is it possible to lower the boost pressure via Turbo PWM MAP using analog with EGT?

You can also use this as a general boost modifier if you want, with a rotary switch instead of the EGT input.
It's something that will be addressed in the future.

Thanks Alex, I understood the point.
But the EGT compensation is something that a new firmware/DATSwin could implement this function in analog 1/2/3? Boost, fuel and ignition.

Re: EGT and compensation on Turbo applications
For now you could send the EGT signal to both gear position to alter boost and also send it to ana1 for fuel and ignition.
Or use the PWM output associated with ana1 to disable your boost solenoid so the turbo would be on waste gate spring only.

Yes, that's planned for the future.Marcio Leal wrote:But the EGT compensation is something that a new firmware/DATSwin could implement this function in analog 1/2/3? Boost, fuel and ignition.

Re: EGT and compensation on Turbo applications
Hi Guys, any news about firmware or software modification to implement EGT as a dedicated menu?
