how would you wire the switch solution ?

but still have the ability to turn off from the key switch not the toggle switch, just use the toggle to like a middle solution to my issue
can i have a sketch ? thanks

If the normal switch contact didn't break when you overthrow it to the cranking position, then there would be an uninterrupted 12v feed to the ECU.

So you would just have two outgoing power lines:
Normal 12v to ECU (ON in Normal Ignition position and also ON in cranking position)
Cranking 12v to Starter Solenoid (ON only in cranking position)

Nothing special required.

It is still an unnecessary installation, the switch will be a break before make and will still momentarily loose power to the ecu and make a count in the reset field

Looking at that original diagram, the switch looks correct.
Wire as follows;
30 - 12v power in to switch
50 - cranking-live to starter motor
15 - ign-on live & cranking - power to DTA
X - ign on live (off when cranking)

As you still to want to use this faulty/unsuitable ignition switch....

Just stick a big red button to operate the starter instead. That way you never need to worry about that ignition switch in cranking mode.

If the switch is as per the above it will work with no fing about, just wire as above, doh

Yes, I just looked at the diagram. Nothing wrong with the switch. He is just using it wrongly / using the wrong contacts.

Rob's right. Ignore my diode suggestion. There will highly likely be a glitch that will be picked up by the ECU.
He has spotted that you are using the switch wrongly and advised how to wire it. That is the only sensible solution.
