I use a tool to push the pin out after leaving a badly crimped pin in the housing when pulling the wire, but the tool is generic and a bit too big and a tight fit, so just wanted something designed for the job.Having said that a paperclip seems to work quite well pushed inside the pin.

I'd be concerned about pushing anything inside the pins in case you splayed them open resulting in a poor contact if trying to re-use them again.

Hence the correct tool, which is a tubular support, with an internal push rod to pop the pin out.

I wouldnt be putting any tool in there at all, when it simply is not needed.

Is this crimper suitable for the dta pins ?
Its b type cavity...i cant find round cavity crimper on my area

Very unlikely I'd have thought, looks just like a crimper for regular uninsulated terminals.

Short of the expensive specialist tools, the main one I and a number of others have had a great deal of success with is the The Hozan P-706 crimper, which has some suitable positions on it's jaws for the superseal pins. Note though, as it's a universal tool, care is needed to get the crimps formed properly.

Here in the UK, everyone I know using them, ended up getting them straight from Japan.

I see no reason to buy a mega expensive tool for this job unless you're making dozens of looms.

That 706 crimper seems a very high price, for a very average looking crimper ( going by Amazon prices )

I believe Racecal do also although I can never find any of these companies actually advertising them

Others say the Sargent 1026 is the same although it's blue.

I have the T-10, I can confirm it works. I have other crimpers in this style too, both blue....they do not do round crimps of the size needed. Although both are cheap and useful tools to have regardless

You're right, in the photos it looks a real cheap and nasty type tool, but without the benefit of cheap price. In practice, it's one of those superb little finds, that works on quite a few of the smaller automotive style connectors.

I've just done a set of Sumitomo HX series 3 way connectors for the ignition coils on my S2000 engine, and it was sized perfectly for those, two.

Cheap ? It's near double the price of the 1026 ?

And I can confirm that although the adverts for the Sargent 1026 show a blue crimper.....in reality it is red, and is correct and the same as the T-10.

As I just bought another one and it arrived today. Can never have too many spare crimpers ! lol
