Hall effect wheel sensor

Post by baldthreads »

I'm working on a project with a hall effect wheel sensor with one output but i need to use it for ecu and power steering can you split the single output for doing two separate jobs

Sometimes.

If it's a regular 3 wire hall sensor, NPN, then it should be fine.

Try it and see

So just connect both ecu and power steering to the one output

Try it and see. Until you try, you cannot know for sure.

I imagine the power steering is electric?
You could use one of the ecu aux outputs when set to frequency to give you control over the power steering depending on speed over and above whatever the standard PS controller can offer you, i.e. fool it by manipulating the road speed
