Hello guys, I've now mounted the tablet in the car and have been using it.

I bought a genuine dell case and mounted it with a steel back with my own brackets bolted to some longacre rear view mirror brackets.

Could you use an Odbii bluetooth adaptor with the DTA?
Then something like torque on android would work.

I like your idea of using software like Torque but i cant see how you would get the DTA ecu to talk to the OBD port.

We really, REALLY need some software that uses inputs like accelerometers, GPS, video and all the sensors that the ecu provides to create an all in one data logging platform.

What do you think

I suppose we can dream

Apparently you can interface Race Technology products with the DTA, so you can have all the things you mention there.

I tried to get their CAN adaptor to work with the DTA a few years back. It would not work, and they offered no support whatsoever to try and make it work. I sold it after that

I've got one of RT can interfaces and I'm recording probably 15 data channels from the S80 and also using a DASH3 display, I'm very impressed with the ability to design your own screens, the dash also shows the can info, but the can stuff is only at 10hz, fine for display but too slow for logging. Still never look at the display once underway! one of the data streams is fuel consumption, like I care!

DTA's on board logging is only at 10Hz anyway ?

If you up it to 100Hz, you can log only 7 channels and only for a very short period of time.

10Hz is fine for most things.

Great taste mate, the fabric stands in my home town :)

On-Topic, nice option for a new dash.

Jesus, that pic is a few years old, lol. The good old days, beer and fabrication. Now its more like wife and soiled nappies :D

I've been using the tablet in the car for a few months now and its great :) Mapping has never been so easy, no trailing wires or laptops falling off the passenger seat lol.
