S60Pro not connecting to laptop

This section is dedicated to discussion of DTA engine control units such as the DTA E48 EXP, P8 Pro, DTA S40, S60, S80, and S100, as well as all things ECU related.

Don't see how something manual you might forget is easier...and manual is certainly not safer.

And no, same as all normal ecu outputs, the trigger for the fuel pump will be a ground trigger, typically used to trigger a relay.

Hence with a test light test between 12v and the ecu output.

As long as there is some sort of sensible map loaded, then yes the fuel pump should be triggered on key on ( or ecu powerup ).

If the map is corrupted....not so sure. If the ecu is dead....fairly sure nothing will happen.

Another simple test is see if you have 5v from the 5v ref circuit for the sensors etc. Again this should indicate some sort of life within the ecu

Thanks.

Need to investigate further.

Is there some way of resetting the box? Manual factory reset perhaps?

Do the tests as stevie says, and not using the fuel pump output is fool hardy to me. It only runs the pump when it needs to. In a crash it will turn the pump off, assuming the engine stalls. And a quick way of telling if the ECU is alive still.

No 5V, no ground on fuel pump pin.

Is there a way in factory resetting, or is it time for an upgrade?

1st check this.
Is there 12v on pin 31 y/n
Is there ground on pins 13 and 14 y/n
Is there 5v on pin 9 of the sensor connector when the above conditions are y ?

Yes, 12V om pin 31
Yes, ground on pin 13/14

Have to check 5V “out” on pin 9

No 5v is bad.

I said use a test light on the fuel pump pin in a specific way. Meters can be misleading. There would only appear ground on the FP pin during prime....it may appear as 12v at in an off state ( ecu powered up ) if using a meter.

test light is simple and more conclusive.

But overall...it is beginning to sound like the ecu is dead. Which is odd unless there has been some event not mentioned that could have killed it. They do not just die on their own.

The ECU has been working fine for years.

The only thing I can think of is that I tried to update the firmware a year-ish ago. The update failed, I think maybe the flash software stopped replying? But then again, the engine ran fine the other day..

If you having trouble following our instructions just send it back to dta for testing, they will charge you. You could have killed it with some reverse polarity event?

I’m trying as good as I can to follow any lead in trying to make sense of this.

I haven’t swapped any leads around, so reverse polarity is highly unlikely.

I’ll send an email to DTA regarding a checkup.
