'Lead critical' ? well yes you have to have it wired as per the instructions !!!! :)

From interest, how old is the e48?
As is every lead "critical".....even a simple 2 wire lead that powers things in the car lol.

How old would you like it to be ? that model number existed for many years, although was replaced by the S40 maybe 10-12 years ago.
