Re: BMW S54B32 cam timing
OK so you have a 46/72 cam. Using the advise I posted above. The duration is the addition of these two numbers, plus 180, equals 298. Then divide by 2 resulting in 149. Deduct the number of degrees before tdc that the valve started to open, ie 46 degrees - the result 103. Therefore the cam is corre...

Re: BMW S54B32 cam timing
Intake valve should open at 46deg before TDC and close 72deg after BDC, Exhaust valve should open 59deg before BDC and close at 40deg after TDC. If you are only able to set using lift at TDC I politely suggest you get someone to help I would like to learn to do it by myself, what's the point of the ...

Re: BMW S54B32 cam timing
I also use the lift at TDC to time a cam, however this is only of any use once you know where to set a particular cam. I suggest you time in conventionally, for the inlet you should see something like between 105 deg ATDC and 115 deg ATDC, these figures are for full lift at that point. From there o...

Re: BMW S54B32 cam timing
Thats not what I'm looking. Looking for lift at TDC, so cam timing WILL alter that.

BMW S54B32 cam timing
Don't know if this is the right area but lets try. has anyone removed vanos and adjusted cams manually? I would like to know some kind of basic setup for valve lift at tdc. I have one instructions that tell me when the valves should open and when they should be closed(numbers are in degrees). Only p...

Re: S80 water temp problem
I think I know now where the problem is. Didnt pullet the pin out but checked voltage readings in dtaswin. Water temp voltage was about 100mV and when touched the wiring voltage readings changed ~50mV-400mV. Wiring loom builder will check loom some day if there is something wrong.

Its reading 0V.ignitionautosport wrote:if temp sensors are reading 0V then possibly blown 5V rail or pull-ups, if they read 5V then it's missing the 0V.

Re: S80 water temp problem
Everything else is working fine. Have to check wires again.katana wrote:Are ALL the sensors showing 0v? that would point toward an ECU or a connector pin issue. If the others are reading correctly then assume a broken wire?
