Re: S40 connection to computer issues

If it's direct serial, the laptop should only be on COM1 as that would be dictated by hardware, and likewise the DTA software should be set to COM1. So the next question....what cable are you using, and is it correct ? Very old, but still valid ( doesn't include the flash programming switch, but not...

Re: S40 connection to computer issues

first and foremost, how are you connecting ? direct serial, or a usb-serial adapter ? Adapters can be troublesome, but very few laptops these days have a direct serial If it's direct serial, it really should just work. Under what circumstances does the error appear ? Just sitting stationary ? trying...

Re: Lotus Twincam

post the scope test.

Just zero, or flatten the timing table at your desired test value and ensure no other corrections are active for a test.

Re: Lotus Twincam

No idea if the T series has a real oscilloscope But such tools are handy. This is a 36-1 referenced against cyl1 cylinder pressure. In this case the tooth after the gap ( some ecu's use this, some use the 2nd tooth ) is around 330 deg BTDC. But gives a great visual of what's going on, as well as let...

Re: Lotus Twincam

It's not that critical, and I'd assume the T series can run the gap anywhere, like the S series ( but not older P series ) So a tooth removed anywhere around 11 o'clock would make sense and be roughly around 90 deg BTDC if that is a useful reference to remember for you. The only critical aspect, is ...

Re: Lotus Twincam

For fuel injection etc, you could use a crank wheel with no position reference, but then you must have a cam/phase/sync sensor But in general, a 36-1, 36-2, whatever, always run a crank wheel with some sort of position reference. Having none, just makes no sense, even if you did also have a cam sens...

Re: Datalog download.

DTA downloads have always been horrendously slow. As said, probably my biggest gripe right from the P8 in 2002 or so, right through 'til I stopped using DTA around 2014 With your adapter, make sure baud speeds are as high as you can in device manager etc. 45 minutes sounds very very slow, but I'm su...

Re: S100. Egt boost or fuel compensation firmware.

you should be able to do this with some of the analogue input channels and a custom table

Re: Riddle me this? Timing will not change

Or somehow on map 2, not the one you think you are on, I've been caught by this before Reading some of your older posts I note that this engine is a 6 cylinder twin plug with coil on plug's with built in ignitors. How have you wired this to the ECU? Datalog would tell all, if timing is changing. An...

Transition from cranking set too high?
It does look like it offers a range from 500-4000rpm. So could be possible someone has that setting very wrong
