Re: Twin wasted spark charge up time
I did ask Dyna.
They were totally useless and wouldn't provide me with any meaningful info at all.
They suggested it was the responsibility of the ECU manufacturer to supply such info.
Bit rubbish really.

Re: Big aircooled Suzuki map
Ok, I did the coil test with the crank scope gathering, all clean. So I repeated it while looking at all the maps, tables, everything, again all clean, I ran the engine again and there it was, then I thought, hold on a mo, its showing a negative fueling value, the only place I could think a negative...

Re: Big aircooled Suzuki map
I have just had a revelation. Before I sack off these notoriously noisy Dyna coils and associated gubbins, why don't I open the 'test injectors, coils & auxiliaries' function and drive the coils up to max revs while keeping my eye on the start fueling table ? Brilliant,, sometimes I amaze even m...

Re: Big aircooled Suzuki map
Ok Point taken Alex. I will be changing my coils as an experiment as I believe I am getting a strange signal from them which manifests itself by highlighting one of the cells in my start fueling map when I rev the engine, it also makes the current percentage value at the bottom of the screen go from...

Re: Big aircooled Suzuki map
Righty.. Coils.. My racebikes (1999 GSXR600)use pencil type coils that are capacitive (I think). They are constantly earthed and fed with a pulsed feed to trigger them. However, Yamaha R6's use inductive pencil coils, whereby they are feed a constant 12v and the switching is done by earthing the oth...

Re: Big aircooled Suzuki map
Ok, stuff that then, I don't need extra complexity with a pull up and chancing it. What I may need is to be pointed in the direction of some good reliable motorcycle coils that are known to work well with an S40. @Alex, I sent you a video via facebook messenger to show you the strange thing that was...

Re: Big aircooled Suzuki map
That's a shame.
I can get various motorcycle ones that use either highside or lowside switching, surely if I wired them in series pairs it may work ??
Will it ?

Re: Big aircooled Suzuki map
try injector dead time of .7 to start with Coil on of 3000 start pulse of 20 Cheers Rob. I actually used .8 dead time and adjusted slightly for voltage in the compensation table. Coil on 3000, yep Start pulse 20 yep. It runs better than it has ever done before, sounds crisp and sharp when blipping t...

I don't have those things sadly.
