Holy thread resurrection.
For anyone with a similar engine setup who's using this base map.

Re: Arduino CAN Colour Dash Display
Troy, apologies for not getting back to you. My car, dashboard, and anything Motorsport related has taken a bit of a back seat this summer, slowly getting back into the swing of things. I was having problems with latency on the control I used to display RPM, was a bit of a faff but got there in the ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyIFU8BoMqE Got it running. On wasted spark, but after the hours I've spent trying to get it started I'm taking this as a victory. Alex has been a lot of help, so thanks to him. I'm away for a couple of wee...

Re: Help getting started
I took some fuel out of it last night and tried again, but it's clear the battery is fighting a losing battle. I've put it on charge, and will try again. The battery is a good few years old and hasn't been used properly for 18 months so we'll see how it fairs. Trying to do the simple things first. I...

Re: Help getting started
Perhaps my terminology of 24/1 is incorrect.
There isn't a missing tooth.
The amount of fuel has also been pointed out by a friend. I've made some changes to hopefully lower that and I'm going to try that tonight before sticking the battery on charge.

Re: Help getting started
Checking spark whilst cranking was something I didn't try, I can do that the next time I'm at the car.

That's correct.Rob Stevens wrote:Hi Tim
You say the trigger is in the distributor and a 24/1 will this work? are you saying this is 24 teeth with no gaps plus a cam sensor?

Re: Help getting started
Thanks Alex, will give that a try. The car has sat for a while now, so it wouldn't be a surprise if it's kaput.Alex DTA wrote:The ECU is syncing as you have RPM. It's under 200 RPM though.
Battery sounds like it's struggling. Try a booster.

Help getting started
Spent some time this afternoon trying to get my car started for the first time. Now go easy on me, this is the first time I've ever done this. The car is a Starlet GT Turbo, I'm using standard triggering which is a 24/1 trigger setup housed inside the standard distributor. I am then using Toyota (De...
